The Second Vuscovi Civil War (Vuscovi: Yѡi Ѵuscoѵю aбaѵah Naj`xhxh Xi`iѵun`felкei, "The Second Vuscovi War For Fatherland) was a war between the nations of Tyvic and Vasque to assert and/or preserve imperialist and religious[3] interests.

Course of the WarEdit

Following the return of the Emperor Yury IV of Tyvic to his Empire in 1742 S.R. after the collective failure of the Stallion-adherent nations of The Gloaming North to hold the crown cities of The Shining South during The Ride of Southern Liberation, he found his lands to be

...

urviving two unsuccessful coups d'etat, Yury IV abdicated his thrown in response to a widespread peasant's revolt, unsatisfied by the aftermath showing only the stealing away of their sons to fight a failed war in an unknown continent, the crumbling of the improperly managed national economy, and the unprecedented, opportunistic Vasqui conquests in the north by the Tsars Zarinsk and Tahkwo.

...

Tsar Zarinsk of Vasque took advantage of Tyvic's weakened army and spent economy with the enactment of a decade-long campaign to crush the Empire, conquering the greatest territorial gains in Vasque's history and sparking the Second Vuscovi Civil War. Specifically, he pushed the Tyvic-Vasque border south of the city of Tynhaga far beyond its sight, at last freeing it of the constant fear of Empyrian invasion. In a fever of violent retribution, he subsequently drove the border further and further down to where he at last reached the very outskirts of the Empyrian capital, Voskrensenka, at its own feet.

National InterestsEdit

Officially, Emperor Odoa of Tyvic was primarily motivated to protect the lands of The Stallion from the brutal wolf-kin of the North, however many non-mainstream scholars adamantly assert Odoa, much like many Empyrian Emperors before and after his reign, of using the war to both an attempt of expanding Tyvic's borders, and to utterly handicap Vasque's economy, the latter of which he was very successful in stimulating.

NotesEdit

  1. Whilst minor conflicts occurred on the island itself, they are regarded as part of the Takw'yctan Struggle, with the major theatre of war for this respective region and time being within the Takw'yctan channel.
  2. Although Vasque suffered far greater losses to its population and economy from both the War and resulting famine, after the signing of the War Moratorium and the official end of the War, Vasque was essentially left with with de-facto control over large portions of the contested lands. Ignoring all territorial concerns, the toll of the war on Tyvic's already handicapped economy and the famine on Vasque still left neither side fully capable of continuing the war. Tyvic and Vasque simultaneously claim themselves to have won the war, and openly declare that their opposing side had been defeated.
  3. Officially, primary motivations were religious. See the section Imperialist Interests for further reading.
